Acılı Ezme
Turkish Style Tomato Dip/meze similar to a salsa.
Sumac is red berry that has a tangy and lemony taste, it is ground and the spice often used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking.
Pomegranate molasses is a dark, thick, sweet, sour and sticky syrup that’s used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, used as a marinade or as an ingredient in sauces or dips,
3 tomatoes, seeded and chopped
1/2 large red or white onion, chopped
1 green or red pepper, chopped
1 cup coriander or parsley
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
1 lemon juice
1 tsp chilli flakes or 1-2 fresh chilli
1 tsp sumac
1 tsp cumin, ground
Salt to taste
Mix all the ingredients in a food processor mix till you have desired smoothness. (Some people like it smooth other prefer it chunky) Then place in a service bowl.
Leave aside for at least an hour to help develop the flavours, then serve with any kind of Kebab or meat dish.
